Gullar Kamalova ist eine Dichterin mit meschetischen Wurzeln in Kirgistan und schreibt Gedichte auf Kirgisisch und auf Türkisch. Kamalova war nur ein paar Monate alt, als sie aus Georgien deportiert wurde, zusammen mit ihrer Familie. Ihr Vater kämpfte an der Front des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Ironischerweise war es Glück für die Familie, dass er an der Front verwundet wurde, da er dann vor der deportation nach Hause kam. Die ganze Familie, darunter ihre Geschwister, ihre Eltern und Großeltern wurden nach Usbekistan abgeschoben. Nicht alle Familien hatten dieses Glück, und wurden deportiert, während die Männer der Familie entfernt kämpften im Krieg. / Gullar Kamalova is a poet of Meskhetian roots in Kyrgyzstan and writes poems in both Kyrgyz and Turkish. Kamalova was only a few months old when she was deported from Georgia together with her family. Her father was away fighting on the frontline of WWII. Ironically, the family was lucky that he was wounded on the frontline, and had returned home before the deportation. All of the family, including her siblings, her parents, and her grandparents were deported to Uzbekistan. Not all families were this lucky, and were deported while the men of the family were away fighting in the war.
